Join us for an inspiring afternoon with Southern Oregon artist (and Art in STEAM alum) Sarah F. Burns, the first artist in residence at the Acorn Woman Lookout, part of the new Siskiyou Crest Artist in Residence Program. This free presentation takes place Sunday, June 29 from 3 to 4 PM in the ScienceWorks theater.

Hosted in collaboration with the Siskiyou Crest Coalition, this special event includes a 45-minute slide presentation sharing Sarah’s immersive experience living and creating in the remote Acorn Woman Lookout — a unique vantage point deep in the Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion. Through photos, stories, and original artwork, Sarah reflects on her time off the grid in this ecologically rich and rugged landscape. Attendees will also have the chance to view a selection of her plein air paintings, created on-site during her stay.

Following the presentation, stay for a Q&A session with the artist and learn more about the Siskiyou Crest Coalition’s mission to promote ecological integrity, artistic exploration, and conservation of one of North America’s most biodiverse mountain ranges.

This event is free and open to the public — no registration required. Seating is limited, so we recommend arriving early to grab a spot. To explore the Siskiyou Crest Coalition’s ongoing projects, visit siskiyoucrestcoalition.org.

Come celebrate the intersection of art and nature at this unique and thoughtful afternoon at ScienceWorks!
