We’re proud to share a big step forward in safety here at ScienceWorks: thanks to a generous donation from Providence BaseCamp, we now have an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) onsite at the Exploration Station in Kranzler Hall, right near our main entrance and across from the restrooms.

This lifesaving device is a key part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety for everyone who walks through our doors — from school groups and summer campers to families and event guests. Having an AED on hand provides peace of mind in the event of a cardiac emergency, especially during our busiest seasons.

We’re also excited to report that every single member of our staff is now certified in First Aid and CPR. Earlier this year, we hosted a certification class at the museum to make sure our team is trained, prepared, and ready to respond. Between this training and our new AED, we’re better equipped than ever to keep our guests and community safe.

Thank you, Providence BaseCamp, for this important gift and for supporting health and wellness across Southern Oregon. And a special shout-out to our new Executive Director, Dr. Gabriela Chavarria, who joined us for the AED installation!

Thank you for being part of the ScienceWorks community. Stay curious. Stay safe.
