We’re thrilled to announce that the Carrico Foundation has awarded ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum a generous $50,000 grant to support the design and construction of our proposed water table exhibit. This grant brings us one step closer to creating an engaging, accessible, and educational new experience for our community — one that highlights the Klamath River Basin, its diverse ecosystems, and the important restoration efforts currently underway.

The "Klamath River Water Table" exhibit will be a dynamic, hands-on play structure designed to mimic the Klamath Basin. As visitors follow the water's journey from the arid north to the coastal rainforest in the south, they’ll explore the river’s tributaries, learn about native species, and discover the human impact on the region’s water systems. Through this immersive experience, guests of all ages will gain a deeper appreciation for the biodiversity and cultural significance of this unique watershed.

More than just a fun feature, this water table will be a space for kinetic and social play that sparks curiosity, compassion, and stewardship. It’s designed to foster a love of learning and a sense of connection to our local environment — and we truly couldn’t do it without the Carrico Foundation’s support.

Thank you, Carrico Foundation, for helping us bring the story of the Klamath River to life! We look forward to welcoming visitors to this one-of-a-kind exhibit in the near future.
