ScienceWorks is deeply grateful to the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation for awarding the museum $7,500 in grant funding. This generous support will help fund our Museums for All program, which provides reduced $3 admission to visitors receiving governmental food assistance, including WIC, SNAP, and the Oregon Trail Card. Through this program, ScienceWorks works to remove financial barriers and ensure families across Southern Oregon can access hands-on learning and discovery.

Executive Director Dr. Gabriela Chavarria attended the Cow Creek awards ceremony alongside representatives from 93 organizations across the region. Reflecting on the experience, she shared that it was “incredible to hear about every single one of the organizations’ work and what they will do with the funding,” noting that most awardees were addressing critical food and housing needs. “I left energized,” she said, “we are all doing so much needed work for the vulnerable people of Southern Oregon.”

We are honored to be included among so many impactful organizations and thankful to the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation for investing in community well-being. This funding helps ensure ScienceWorks remains a welcoming, accessible space where curiosity and learning are available to all.
