Curiosity: A Year Exploring Mars

Join planetary scientist Terry Martin on Thursday, August 22 at 7pm for an update on the Mars rover Curiosity's mission.  We now know that water flowed in the distant past on Mars, and that the environment would have been compatible with life as we know it. Curiosity's next mission is to head up to explore Mt. Sharp. a mountain the size of Mt. Rainier. Amazing scenes are online, and we expect much more to come.  Check out the NASA video below!

Terry Martin is a retired planetary scientist specializing in the Mars atmosphere. He worked at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena from 1979 to 2008, taking part in the Viking mission to Mars, the Mars Global Surveyor, and most recently the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
