Film Festival XI: The Best of My Film Festivals Part 2
April 3-June 5
Class Size: 40
Over the course of the last few years, the instructor has shown 65 films at OLLI. They were well
received and many were previously unknown by the attendees. I have selected several of the very
best as judged by the reactions of the audiences and myself. This class will show them once again
as a retrospective. The first half of this group of films was shown during the Winter 2013 term
and now the second half will be shown during the Spring term. Included are films with the
following themes: “very long, but very, very good”, “gripping dramas”, “too good not to revisit”,
“marvelous movies from Down Under”, and “just for the fun of it”. Following each film, the
instructor will facilitate an open-floor discussion about the film.
Jerry Sonnenschein has led one book discussion group at OLLI and nine film festivals. He has
always been an avid reader and has been lucky enough to have seen quite a few remarkable films
which he enjoys sharing with other OLLI members.
