Summer Internship Program

ScienceWorks is offering a limited number of summer internships for students, ages 13 and up, who are interested in science, developing new skills, having fun and giving back to the community.

Teen InternThe internship program is 50 hours long and consists of:
25 hours- Teaching Assistant during one of our week long summer camps
25 hours- Museum Exhibit Interpreter, Science Activities Presenter or leading activities for
pre-school aged visitors OR a possibility of assisting with a second summer camp
Camps will be held between June 16th and August 29th, with no camp the week of July 4th.  Each intern will be assigned to help with one or two, 25 hour camps that fit the needs and schedule of the intern and museum.  6 hours will be training. The remaining 19 hours of the internship will be scheduled as shifts assisting on the museum floor or with a variety of assignments and projects as needed.
Interns will be selected through an application and interview process. You may print the apply online by clicking the link at the bottom of the page or stop by the museum to pick up an application.
Benefits for Participants:

Each participant will receive 50 hours of experience in the fields of science and education. After successIntern helping a camperful completion of the internship, participants will receive a letter of recommendation from ScienceWorks and will have a new set of professional skills that will easily transfer to future jobs.  Internships also look fantastic on resumes and college applications!

To Apply:

All interested applicants must complete a Volunteer Application Form AND a submit letter explaining why they are interested in assisting with our summer camps.  Submit your application and letter by April 25th, 2014.
