Feb 18 - Collecting Crime Scene Evidence
Join us on Friday, Feb 18th at 7pm for a SciTalk with real Crime Scene Investigator Jeff Dovci. He will present "Collecting Evidence at the Scene of the Crime: Using Forensic Science to Uncover the Truth" as an introduction to our own CSI & Forensics weekend, Feb 19 - 21.

Criminalist Jeff Dovci is a 1987 Graduate of the Oregon Institute of Technology where he received a B.S degree in Allied Health with a major in Medical Technology. He was hired by the Oregon State Police in 1988 and after completing The OSP Recruit School, he was assigned to the Medford Crime Detection Laboratory as a Serologist. Jeff has worked for the Oregon State Police for over 22 years. During his career he has performed forensic examinations in multiple forensic disciplines from drug chemistry to firearms and tool mark comparisons. He has responded to and processed many clandestine drug laboratories as well as homicides and death investigations. He has been qualified as a court recognized expert in various forensic disciplines and is currently responsible for analyzing firearms and biological evidence at the OSP Central Point Forensic Laboratory and he responds to major crime scenes.
In addition to his duties as a criminalist, Jeff has instructed law enforcement officers at a number of schools and professional meetings. He has been a Criminalistics instructor for Rogue Community College and is presently an adjunct professor at Southern Oregon University in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Department.
